Var.Amara Peel Oil (Petigrain) Petitgrain Bigarade Oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the bitter orange tree. This tree also gives us Neroli, from the flowers, and a bitter orange oil pressed from the peel of its fruit. Unlike the peel oil, petitgrain does not contain the irritating and photosensitizing components making it a suitable oil for use in blends that will stay on the skin. Petitgrain is a beautifully sweet, complex oil with hints of floral and herbaceous notes. Petitgrain Bigarade oil, like the other citrus oils, is a great choice for oily and congested skin conditions where it will assist in reducing the excess oil without over drying the skin, which causes the skin to over produce oil in an attempt to protect itself. Petitgrain may also be used for other skin types when combined with the balancing, hydrating oils.
